EVE stands for "Embedded Video Engine" and is made by FTDI.
You receive three controllers as part of a single component:
1. Graphics (QVGA/WQVGA)
3. Resistive Touch
The aim of EVE is to get an attractive graphics solution in a quick and easy way. No prior knowledge of graphics programming is required.

The FT800 is the first chip in the new EVE series of user-friendly graphics controllers. The data link is via SPI or I2C bus. Both the hardware and software are reduced to a minimum. Apart from a few passive components, there are no additional requirements. You can even save yourself the external quartz.
Powerful interfaces as part of a simple modular system.
A modular system can be used to compose the desired interfaces using the simplest, yet powerful commands. So-called widgets contain complex graphics objects such as clocks, measuring instruments, keyboards and sliders, which can be linked with touch entries and sounds. Only one command in the form "Cmd_clock(Position,Option,Time);" is required to call up a clock. The commands can be easily compiled from the programming guide.

We provide you with all definitions and various demos as a universal C-source code. You therefore need to buy no additional software or licences. This will save you time and money and you will get to your development goal sooner.
Already optimised for selected MCU manufacturers or directly linked to your PC
The GLYN evaluation board concept has already been optimised for the following microcontroller manufacturers: SPANSION/FUJITSU FM3 and RENESAS.
Other microcontroller manufacturers can be easily interfaced with the board, using a free connector strip. The FTDI 3.3V MPSSE C232HM-DDHSL-0 cable can be used to connect the evaluation board directly to your PC.
Remain flexible when it comes to display sizes
11 displays ranging from 8.9 cm (3.5") to 14.5 cm (5.7") - with or without touch - for a direct connection to EVE. The EVB-EVE-FT800-V1 links all displays of the GLYN EDT display concept to a microcontroller of your choice and can also be directly plugged into a PC via an FTDI USB to SPI cable with the demo code run from Microsoft Visual C++ Express.
To evaluate and connect the EVB-EVE-FT800-V1 to a PC, you will also need to order the FTDI USB-MPSSE cable which is available for purchase here.
Also the TFT LCD with touch panel is not included in the EVB-EVE-FT800-V1 kit. This needs to be purchased separately. We recommend the Glyn EDT family concept displays with touch panels - 3.5" (G-ET0350G0DH6) and 4.3" (G-ET0430G0DH6) available here.
A complete listing of technical documentation is provided below. Due to the size of the documents and Sample Application software environment, FTDI Chip recommends that purchasers of an FT800 development system first acquaint themselves with the DS_VM800B and DS_FT800 datasheets, after which familiarity with EVE's pseudo language found in the Programming Guide is advised. The remaining documents and Sample Application software have been developed with an orientation toward system and design implementation.
